I am a writer, researcher, and anthropologist currently based in Tokyo, where I work as a postdoctoral researcher at Tokyo College, one of the University of Tokyo Institutes for Advanced Studies. My work explores the gap between idealized visions of sociotechnical systems and their actual implementation in practice. I address this topic by developing innovative methodological approaches that pair the time-tested tools of ethnography with theories and concepts drawn from STS, human geography, economics, infrastructure studies, and other related disciplines. 

My doctoral research focused on the shifting social, political, and economic dynamics of the new space economy around the world. Other projects have examined the financialization of urban housing, the labour dynamics of platform delivery services, and the relationship between public transport and public health in pandemic times.
